The news site Business Insider Inc., co-founded by former Internet analyst Henry Blodget, lifted $5M in venture capital from investors managed by Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) CEO Jeff Bezos.
Business Insider declared that an avid reader of the site Bezos his first investment in the firm from side to side his personal investment arm Bezos Expeditions and transports the startup’s total funding to $18.3M. RRE Ventures and Institutional Venture Partners as well contributed in the funding round. Earlier investors have incorporated venture capitalist Marc Andreessen as well as Ken Lerer, a co-founder of the Huffington Post.
Shares of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) opened at $255.72 with 454.55 million outstanding shares and touch its highest price of $256.18 of the day and then finished at $255.48 by scoring -1.39%, as in the whole session stocks gain volume of 2.56 million shares which is higher than its average volume.
