Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s shares slightly up in after hours trading as it is in the black again, except the Canadian smartphone maker declared mixed results near the beginning on Thursday for its fiscal Q4 as it persists to carry out its turnaround plan.
The Waterloo, Ontario-based firm declared a surprise profit, excluding items, of 22 cents per share for the quarter ended March 2. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had anticipated BlackBerry to lose 29 cents per share. For the full fiscal year, BlackBerry misplaced 60 cents per share.
The firm declared that its sales, however, came in lesser than anticipated at $2.68B, decrease 36 percent from the year-earlier quarter and lower that the consensus-analyst anticipates of $2.84B.
BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins stated in a statement that they have implemented several changes at BlackBerry over the previous year and those changes have resulted in the firm returning to profitability in the Q4.
