U.S. Stocks On Roller Coaster Amid Europe Concerns (DHI, LEN, FB)

U.S. stocks fluttered as Spain’s bond yields increased to a euro-era record and German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated taht the new Greek government should not be granted additional elbow room on the terms of its aid.

Energy and financial shares had the biggest decreases among 10 groups in the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index. D.R. Horton Inc.(NYSE:DHI) and Lennar Corp. (NYSE:LEN) increased at least 1.8% as confidence among builders rose to a 5-year high. Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) had a 4.5% rally in the one-month anniversary of its initial public offering.

The S&P 500 dropped less than 0.1% to 1,342.69 at 12:23 p.m. in New York, after the benchmark index advanced as much as 0.3% earlier. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 24.29 points, or 0.2%, to 12,742.88.
