Disney in Talks with Univision For English Cable News Channel – NYSE:DIS
Walt Disney Co., holder of the ABC broadcast network, is in discussions with Univision Communications Inc. to make an English-language 24-hour cable-news channel, as said by two people familiar with the situation.
Disney, based in Burbank, California, would administer advertising sales and distribution for the venture, stated the people, who asked for secrecy as a deal has not been signed. The channel would draw newsgathering resources from ABC News and Univision, the biggest US Spanish-language broadcaster, they added.
